The space the formal entry now occupies was once use as a den. It was a large room with a wood burning stove and worn linoleum flooring. We removed the stove, scraped the tile off the floors, had the floors refinished in the entire house before we moved in. We learned from past experience to never refinish floors while we occupy a house.

We constructed partitions to break the space up into a foyer, coat closet and office nook.
